A class of young creatives at Collyer's Sixth Form College have produced merchandise for a Pop-Up Shop at Horsham Museum. The shop's month-long appearance opens on Saturday 4 May and is highlighted within the events programme for Horsham District Council's A-May-Zing Weekend.
The live brief was chosen in collaboration with students on the BTEC National Diploma in Art & Design course and focuses on creative portfolio development for those who are aspiring to work in the graphic and visual arts industry.
The task to create products for public display has presented students with an in depth process where they worked to a live time frame that challenged their artistic potential and revealed the final products. They used techniques and methods across a wide range of media and design aesthetics with a theme throughout the collection of the celebration of Horsham’s history and heritage. The students visited the museum in February to seek inspiration from the museum’s galleries and collections and many of the stories that they uncovered are represented in the merchandise.
The shop will include A3 prints, cards and tote bags.
Visit from Saturday 4 May - Saturday 8 June, 10:00 - 16:00.
